Headlines Solo Boxeo With TKO Victory

Ronny Rios (17-0, 8 KO's) scores an imposing fourth round
stoppage against a game Jeremy McLaurin in the main event of
tonight’s Telefutura’s Solo Boxeo broadcast. Golden Boy
Promotions hosted the exciting fight card at the Phoenix
Club in Anaheim, CA.
Santa Ana’s Ronny Rios, 22, began by working off his stick.
The partisan fighter found success with looping right hooks
in rounds number one and two. Jeremy McLaurin’s size
advantage seemed to pose a challenge for Rios – hence the
looping right hooks.
Rios later went on to state that his adversary’s size did
not pose a problem because McLaurin was not really using his
height to his advantage in a post fight interview.
The young partisan fighter ensued to land several lopping
rights hooks followed by punishing body work in round number
four. Highly reputed referee Raul Caiz was forced to stop
the bout at the 2:31 mark of the same round as Ronny Rios’
onslaughts were met with no defensive response from his
counterpart.
“There is no cooking, like home cooking,” said Ronny Rios
after his exciting win only 10 miles away from his hometown
of Santa Ana, CA.
Alejandro Perez Scores TKO
In the co-featured bout, Alejandro Perez (16-3-1, 11 KO's)
scored a scintillating eighth round TKO against the flashy
Derrick Wilson (9-3-2, 5 KO's). The featherweight bout was
called 27 seconds into the culminating round.
Florida’s Derrick Wilson began the fight strong by
unleashing several precise left hooks. Wilson was all but
dominating the scrap until he was sent to the canvas by one
of Alejandro Perez’s left hooks. Wilson went on to recover
and win the following round. Albeit, he once again found the
canvas after absorbing another left hook on behalf of his
counterpart.
Salina’s Alejandro Pereez momentum carried him onto the
succeeding round were he connected with a right hook and
once again scored a knock down. Derrick Wilson was able to
survive his third trip to the canvas and went on to control
the sixth round with some vivid right hooks. The action
seeped into the following round with both fighters engaging
in some crowd-pleasing exchanges.
The opening televised bout came to a halt in the final round
after Alejandro Pereez connected with a vicious right hook
that forced referee Ray Corona to halt the bout in the eight
and final round.
Julian Ramirez Wins In Debut
Debutant Julian Ramirez
(1-0, 1 KO's) wins first professional
bout by stopping fellow debutant Javier Damian 2:26 into
round number one. The televised wing bout was a scheduled
four round featherweight scrap.
Luis Mora Remains Unbeaten
Luis Mora (2-0-1, 1 KO) earns a unanimous decision victory
against Ricardo Malfavon (2-8-1, 2 KO's) in a four round
welterweight. All three judges ringside scored the bout
40-36 in favor of East L.A’s Mora.
Jose Sanchez Pleases Home Crowd
Jose Sanchez (7-2, 4 KO's) scores a first round TKO against
Mexico’s Manuel Sarabia (16-34-10, 10 KO's) in the opening bout
of the card. The partisan fighter scored two notable
knockdowns on his way stoppage victory.
