Over the next couple of weeks
Boxing2005 is going to follow and chronicle the
weeks, days and hours of two young fighters as they
lead up to their scheduled fights on July 15th at
The Quiet Cannon in Montebello Ca.
We will get to meet these two
young men, watch them during their training and
sparring, speak to their trainers and families, be
with them when they hit the scales, watch them as
they apply their craft and of course get some post
fight comments from all parties involved.
If you want reality, you won't
find anything more real than this. No scripts, no
games, no hype! Just a couple of young and hungry
guys who are trying their best to make a mark in
this rough sport.
The fighters are Cruiserweight
Carlos Martin from Anaheim CA, who
took a unanimous decision in his pro debut abnd now
is looking to keep his record intact as he faces his
next challenge.
The other fighter is Super
Middleweight Jorge Garcia who
fights out of Paramount CA. Jorge sports a record of
2-0, with both wins coming by decision. Garcia has
already fought once at The Quiet Cannon and is
looking to stay undefeated come July 15.
As with most up and comers, both
are scheduled for 4 round contests against opponents
of like records.
For those of you who don't get a
chance to see what fighters go through before fight
night, this will be a real good way to get an inside
look.
Throughout the next 2 weeks, we
will show you what it's like to spend a little time
with fighters prior to their bouts.

Our second installment of hopeful contenders
features our two fighters, Jorge Garcia and Carlos
Martin, in some sparring action. As I got to the gym
Jorge was finishing up his work with tough South
American fighter Marcos Andreas. After that Carlos
jumped into the ring with # 1 ranked WBO Super
Middleweight Librado Andrade, a good day of learning
for any fighter!
After their time in the ring we spoke to both
fighters to find out how they are using this
time of sparring to help them in their upcoming
battles on July 15th at The Quiet Cannon in
Montebello.

fighters. Both their Trainer, David
Martinez, and Manager, Danny Zamora, are
helping guide the young hopefuls careers and
they see a lot of promise in the young men,
both inside and outside the ring. Take a

plus when you are calling boxing a career,
having a supportive family is all but mandatory,
and for these two fighters, Carlos Martin and
Jorger Garcia, their families play a big part in
their success. As you listen to thie family
members, there is no question that these
families are behind them 110%.

Less than a week to go and bad news hit for
Jorge Garcia, his opponent fell out and now
the scramble is on to fill his spot.
Hopefully All Star Boxing will be able to
find a fighter on short notice. All is not
lost though as talk is that Jorge will be
put on a card the following week if things
fall out for Friday night.
For Carlos, all is well, he knows he has an
opponent and he is ready to go! It's time
for the Cruiserweight to focus and get ready
for the Friday night show, it's now less
than one week away!

Tomorrow is weigh-in
day and it looks like All Star boxing
has found a last minute opponent for
Jorge Garcia and once again, the two
fighters we have been following so
closely are on the card for Friday night
in Montebello CA.
It's 72 hours to
fight time and we check in again with
Jorge and Carlos to see how everything
is going!

It appeared that the rollercoaster was going
to take us for another ride as some of the
other scheduled bouts began to run into some
snags. At one point in the morning there
wasn't even enough rounds to sanction a
bout, but greater minds prevailed and all is
well for All Star's show at The Quiet Cannon
in Montebello for this Friday night, July
15th. One of the biggest changes for the
show is that Carlos Martin has now been
moved up to a six round affair in the
cruiserweight division, but we know he is in
top shape so a couple extra rounds will not
pose a problem!
Today we are going to give you a look at the
weigh-in, let you see the opponents for the
first time, and get a few brief comments
from our hopeful stars! |

When we took up with Jorge and Carlos and
decided to put this diary together we never
thought that we would get as many twists and
turns in a short two week period. But as you
know, this was anything but smooth as we
watched the two get ready for their big
night. At times it looked as though things
were never going to go as planned, but in
the end both fighters had fights and now it
was time to get to the final outcome. Well,
guess what? Another unexpected turn of
events came to pass on fight night, as if we
should have expected anything else! All was
not in vain though and the night did have
enough excitement for everyone, so check out
the video and listen to what the fighters
had to say about that night.
