A partial solution would be to avoid promoting any boxer who has any connection to Victor Conte. Surely the penny must have dropped by now.

And while we're at it, test Andre Ward. If he refuses to be tested, strip him of his titles and invalidate every fight he has had since he first started taking Conte's "supplements".

Easier said then done. Las Vegas and California are two of the bigger states that can handle that. What happens when you go to Texas, Mexico, Miss or other Southern states where the AC and $$ are lacking.

This is unfortunately going to get worse before it gets better.

I ain;t really condoning any of it but at the same time I throw my hands up and say, "you know what? GO FOR IT!"

Why even bother fighting it.

Maybe we will see sub 9 second 100 meter dashes, 90 minute marathons, guys will broad jump over 30 feet and punches will launch domes into the second row.

It will be a freak show but what the heck...the world is going to hell in a hand basket...why not just go out with a real bang?

Kidding! :/

Agreed David

Either that or we can just drop all drug testing and let these guys juice up to their soon to be exploding hearts content.

How about a roided up Pacquiao fighting at Supermiddle against a HGH infected Ward?

Some of the biggest losers in the Peterson drug saga were the thousands of Khan fans who booked flights and hotels to watch the rematch. They'll get a refund on ticket purchases, but I'm sure they will be out of pocket. Peterson should be made to set aside funds out of his own pocket to compensate those who have genuinely lost money as one of the conditions for being allowed to fight again.

Sadly, Peterson is not the only high profile boxer known or believed to have taken performance enhancing drugs. Shane Mosley is very lucky he wasn't punished for his transgressions. JC Chavez is another. Evander Holyfield shared the same address and phone number as a HGH user and dealer. Andre Ward has some explaining to do regarding his relationship with Conti and his use of supplements supplied by the steroid peddler. Is his absence from the ring this year entirely due to a hand injury, or is he waiting until whatever consumed last year is completely out of his system? Nonito Donaire is another of Conti's customers.

Would anyone be shocked in Manny Pacquiao failed a random drug test? Also, let's bear in mind with what you can get away with and not fail a drug test. The Nevada State Athletic Commission allows a person to have up to six times the normal amount of testosterone in their body. It's only when an athlete has over six times the normal amount that a drug test is considered failed.

The situation will not improve until universal standards are adopted and enforced, with random drugs tests for all professional boxers. That will never happen, so the problem is here to stay. One partial solution is for the various sanctioning associations to at least agree on mandatory testing for title fights. Somehow, I don't think that will happen, either.

Thanks William. I agree about how scoring can be subjective for sure. I just doint think this was one of those fights that could have gone either way. The thing I dont like is that people see things completely with there heart and there hate. Im a honest Pac hater and thought he lost to marquez the last 2 times but understand that they were close fights so a cant be to mad about the decisions maybe my hate had marquez winning a few of the closer round especially in 2nd fight. This situtation to me is different I think even if you give a few of the close rounds to cotto all it does is make it a closer fight not a win for cotto. I honestly cant see how anyone with any objectiveness at all could say he thought cotto won 7 rounds of this fight. you also make a great point against hagler and leonard. I watch that fight as a ten year old kid in a room full of hagler fans and my impression was he got robber. I bought the dvd years later and put the fight on for someone he never seen it to show him that hagler got robbed but watching it again i realized this was a very close fight and i was 100 percent ok with the decision.

I had the fight 116-112 for Floyd.

We all know how subjective boxing scoring can be and how different things can influence different people.

I have zero problem with the decision rendered. Cotto and a few of his followers do now..and always will.

Just like the Hagler people who insist he beat Leonard.....but the record speaks for itself.
