As I said, I wait with bated breath for this fight…if history tells us anything it seems something is bound to happen and it will either get cancelled, postponed etc.

Broaden our horizons…hmmm…you mean like travel to Copenhagen to cover a Kessler fight? Or to Quebec to cover the hotbed of boxing half a dozen times? Or how about like having people covering ringside from Germany to England to France to Puerto Rico to Mexico?

Good idea…gonna havta give that a whirl one day :/

I’m glad someone else remembers what Garcia did to Lewis. That was Don King’s way of forcing himself back into the heavyweight championship franchise. As for Chavez Jnr, sooner or later he will have to fight a real middleweight and then it’s all over.

Cotto is younger than Mayweather. Then again, he has been beaten up a few times. The only real uncertainty about this blockbuster is we can’t be absolutely certain it will take place. If it does, Cotto loses unless Mayweather is cut or disqualified. In other words, it’s no different from Klitschko-Mormeck.

I have zero interest in the Thai boxing scene, and that’s why I broaden my horizons looking for more interesting fights. Maybe you guys in the US should do the same from time to time.

Are you always the stick in the mud McGarry?

Of course Floyd will be the odds on favorite to beat an aging Cotto and you don’t have to be NostraDumbAss to know that. Since the fight everyone wants to see will NEVER be an option I think this is as good as we were going to get (unless Floyd steps in with Sergio Martinez). Cotto is the reigning 154 pound champ and for Floyd to step up and take on this challenge against a battle tested warrior is far better than him making Alvarez his whipping boy.

Of course Floyd vs. Cotto pales in comparison to that huge Pongsaklek Wonjongkam vs.Sonny Boy Jaro fight for the coveted WBC Asia Council Continental superflyweight title, but then again we don’t have access bigtime promoters like Petchyindee Boxing.

We here stuck in the States will just have to settle for this Floyd vs. Cotto stinker.

This is a complete mismatch. Cotto will lose by a huge margin on points or get knocked out. Therefore, I don’t see what all the fuss is about as I’m certain of the result three months before the event.

A fight against Saul “boring stiff” Alvarez would have been far more interesting as the ginger kid is naturally bigger and stronger and in his prime.

Manny vs. Bradley is to Floyd vs. Cotto as The Harlem Globetrotters vs. The Washington Generals is to the NBA Finals.

I have little or no interest in that fight and I think I speak for most boxing fans by saying so.

I happy to see this is who floyd is fighting. I think he could have made a lot of money and had a lot easier time fighting Alvarez but alvarez is not ready for a fight like that he struggled against Gomez. The best part about it is there is no catchweight! Now its up to pac and Im sure he will make Bradley go all the way up to 147 even though they could both make 140.
