Nate’s Fate May Rest On Mayweather’s Mystery Opponent

By William Trillo

If Golden Boy Promotions has their way then they will convince Floyd Mayweather Jr. to fill the gaping hole left by Manny Pacquiao with former lightweight Champ Nate Campbell. Be that as it may, I have been told that Floyd is not so keen on the Campbell fight and he has a yet to be named “Mystery Opponent” to spring on Golden Boy and the World soon.

Looking over the lists from all the experts there is a bevy of stars from Kermit Cintron to Devon Alexander suggested as foes for Floyd. Let us take a look at one so called experts “Who Floyd Should Fight” list:

1. Manny Pacquiao
2. Shane Mosley
3. Paul Williams
4. Andre Berto
5. Sergio Martinez
6. Timothy Bradley
7. Kermit Cintron
8. Nate Campbell
9. Devon Alexander
10. Luis Collazo

Now, if my source is right you can take that list and throw it directly in the garbage!!

Why?

Because according to the proverbial unnamed source the Floyd foe is a MYSTERY which means no one has a clue whom it might be!

It’s time To Tell The Truth…Will the mystery guest sign in please?

P4P could you guys try to be more original with your topics for discusion. thx

  3. Dear Justafan,

When you find any other boxing site that is saying Floyd is NOT fighting Nate and has a surprise opponent waiting in the wings please let me know.

And this is a Boxing News site and quite frankly the hottest topic out there is either Manny or Floyd.

For instance, right now ALL the regular news sites are posting the earthquake in Haiti news or discussing the Leno vs Conan debacle.

It’s not that they are not original but rather that is what people want to know.

That’s why you are justafan. You have no idea what real news is.

    Thanks for reading.

ouch, damn will could you give him back his ass

  5. Jack says:

Ivan Calderon is the opponent, my source has seen the e-mails. The selling point is, “Whose 0 will go?!” guaranteed at the least 1 million PPV buys.

  6. Sperry says:

Come to think of it “mystery” sells. Didn’t Mayweather Marquez had that mysterious ‘at what weight will they fight at’ when the promotion started? That borefest got a million buys.

P4P could you guys be the first to report new devolopements so the fans that use more than one news source could appreciate the P4P site more. thx

  8. Hot diggity, that’s a great Idea……Will do justafan……u da man :/

  9. Moustapha10 says:

Guess it will be Leila Ali if she hasnt retired. U never know if she will unretire to box with Floida Gmayweather Jr.

  10. Frank Boff says:

Floyd won’t fight ANYBODY on that list because most of them might beat him, and he as you say is fanatically obsessed with his 0. I also don’t think he will fight in March or anytime soon thereafter because he will be afraid of having his ppv numbers compared to Pacquiao-Clottey, which should make a mockery of Floyd’s numbers.

One birdy told me Floyd will fight an unbeaten young German. The smart move for Floyd is to fight overseas, cause he won’t draw here unless he find a top opponent like Shane or Williams. If Floyd goes to Germany, it would be a huge event. He would easily be the most famous current boxer to ever fight there. Monstrous numbers, plus a hefty purse guarantee in the millions from the German promoter. A fight with a Brit in England would also be huge. That’s the way he’s going to go in order to try and match or beat the money generated by Pacquiao’s fight.
This scoop is for you, justafan. And FYI, p4p breaks more news than just about anybody.

  11. rick says:

For consistency sake, they might as well dig up Arturo Gatti’s body and have Mayweather punch his corpse for 12 rounds in yet another fight that should never have been scheduled. Why are you being so logical as to assume that they will put together a sensible match-up.

    Heh.

  12. istiweytis says:

mayweather should first be examined mentally before having an opponent. that way, he’ll be able to realize that he needs to fight those guys on the list and stop bullying small boxers.

  13. Korn666 says:

there is no more chance for floyed fighting manny. he is just afraid.

Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley Timothy Bradley

Dont dodge this guy Floyd…Seems like the only person fast and strong enough to give Floyd and good match….
This is what the PEOPLE want to see…Not another uneven match…
Be true to the sport and to yourself…not just to the money and a clean record…
