He wants to sue instead of taking the test clearing his name and fighting on an even playing field. Image what pac man can do if he was to take the test knock out mayweather he would be on top of the boxing world. There has to be a reason he is protesting to the test and him saying it will weaken him just doesn’t hold water. Amid a looming legal battle over claims of steroids use and the other camp’s declaration that the mega-fight is dead, the side of Floyd Mayweather, Jr. appears ready to soften its stand on the disputed dope-testing item in the planned March 13 showdown with Manny Pacquiao.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who’s representing Mayweather in the negotiations, on Sunday (Manila time) said the Floyd group is open to the Pacquiao camp’s demands of not using the US Anti-Doping Agency for the Olympic-style drug tests and of setting a cut-off time in conducting blood tests prior to the fight.

“We are OK to move off USADA,” Schaefer said in an interview with ESPN.Com. “What we’re saying and what is important to us is four things – that the tests be random, that they include blood and urine and the time frame, meaning when do you stop the tests before the fight but know they will still be effective.”

According to the GBP executive, the two camps have already agreed on the issues of random, blood and urine tests.

“It’s a matter of the two sides working out the specifics of the cutoff date to assure it will still be effective.”

The dope issue has derailed the otherwise smooth negotiations for the projected highest-grossing fight in boxing history.

Purportedly aiming to protect their fighter from performance-enhancing drugs that they accused Pacquiao of taking, the Mayweather camp has insisted on doing thorough dope tests, including getting blood samples two days before the fight.

But Team Pacquiao has objected, wanting assurances that training would not be disrupted by a middle-of-the-night test or one conducted a few days leading up to the fight.

Instead, promoter Bob Arum proposed three scheduled tests – on the week of the fight’s press conference, at least 30 days before the bout, and immediately after the action. He also recommended that the Nevada State Athletic Commission or independent agencies that work with the NBA, NFL or MLB be tapped to do the test in place of the USADA.

The issue has taken a turn for worse as a fed up Pacquiao asked his promoters to help him prepare libel, slander, and defamation suits charges against Floyd Mayweather Jr and his father Floyd Sr., as well as Schaefer, whom he felt had “gone overboard” in insinuating he’s on to something illegal.

guys… some points most of you are missing here…

1. manny has not tested positive on any drugs, ever. why treat him like this?
2. manny never said he does not want to do the drug test; he’ll do it. 2x before the fight, and 1 after the fight; but not anytime near the fight
3. assuming manny is on steroids or hgh, is gayfloyd, if you are as you say you are, not afraid of manny, sure to beat him, then why ask for all this test shit? just fight and let manny take the drug test after you beat him. then tell the world, oh i beat manny with all that drugs and all.
4. supports no.3… manny as he is now (with drugs or no drugs) looks scary and unbeatable to pretty gay floyd

random testing or shut the f*ck up and go home, simple as that. nobody is forcing you to fight Floyd. but steroid boy has been exposed.

the NSAC is an incompetent organization as far as drug screening goes, you might want to see how many times they caught Mosely juicing. Mosely himself will tell you he took steroid.

BoneCrusher, you do understand that Manny has agreed to all test asked of him for the past 15 years and he is continuing to do so and he even agreed to take 3 extra blood test and an unlimited amount of piss test just to please Floyd? What some people are missing is he is refusing PBF test not the Nevada State Athletic Commission. When is enough enough? Should Kobe not step on the floor with LeBron because Kobe doen’t like the NBA drug test and he thinks that an organization that allowed Marion Jones to win Gold Medals on the juice is the best organization to handle drug testing? Anyone with half a brain can see that this is BS. MARION JONES was tested by the same people does Floyd not know that? What does Floyd have against the NSAC? Why did Floyd fight his last 40 fights without Olympic testing? Why is every pro boxer in the world not taking Olympic testing? But, Floyd want’s Manny to do so! THIS IS BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bottom line is, whether Mayweather is using this as a tool to not fight but that what the hell is the problem taking the damn test! There is no reason at all that the test should be refused. If someone is gonna pay me a whopping multi million dollar payday to fight, you best believe im gonna piss, shit, bleed and even give hair! Fighters today are absolutly taking things to far in thinking they are bigger and beyond the sport fans and boxing!
