Talk about a lump of coal in your stocking! After all the early chatter that Floyd Mayweather & Manny Pacquiao had delivered an early Christmas gift by announcing their fight was all but good to go for March of 2010, we now are facing the probability that the fight has been pulled out from under the tree. And although Floyd Jr. is pretty much responsible for the heinous crime you can go ahead and insert any of the involved parties faces atop the Grinch’s green frame, Floyd Sr., “Hot Flashes” Ellerbe, Golden Boy and by now I am okay if you slam Manny’s grill in there or anyone at Top Rank as well.
On Christmas Eve the L.A. Times announced that Richard Schaefer was hoping an outside arbitrator could help settle this dilemma but within hours the same periodical announced that Pacquiao had instructed Bob Arum at Top Rank to file a law suit against Floyd and Golden Boy for remarks made by the boxer and people in his camp regarding Pacquiao’s possible use of performance-enhancing drugs.
This entire situation has gone from the ridiculous to the sublime and in the opinion of top industry sources we spoke to this has become nothing more than “noise and gamesmanship” that amounts to nothing more than “cheap advertisement” for the fight.
So whats your drift Mr writer. Am i to understand that you dont like the possible litigation on the Mayweathers and Schaefer? Am i suppose to accept that you dont value your reputation and you would not defend it any cost?

I think GoddamnBloggerSuxx is the one who should be given a blood test. That comment was like Freddie Kruger on steroids.
What bothers me is why did the blood issue suddenly come up now, and not much earlier. There must be a sudden reason why the Floyd camp is doing this, unless it is just to get out of a fight they were always afraid of.
But perhaps the Floyd camp has found real evidence and is waiting to pop it.
Lost in translation is that there are other ways to cheat besides steroids, namely HGH and new ways of blood doping that are surfacing and wouldnt show up on blood or urine test. Once again, at a time when boxing had a chance to step up on the world’s stage and revive interest in the sport, it has been dragged into the mud. The two biggest stars in boxing had dumped on boxing. What could be worse. Pathetic.
I am a big Manny fan but I think you have to consider the fact that hes been moving up in weight and beating the best in every division for a couple years now, couple that with the fact that he is saying he wants no part of Olympic style drug testing ..it has to raise some doubt…I have a lot of friends who know very little about boxing but when the story broke they were all screaming how something seems shady about Manny not wanting to do this…I myself have loved watching him fight and have never even consdidered the possibility of him being on steroids until all this came up…you cant hate on Mayweather for putting this in the contract because its a legitimate request especially with how prevelant steroids has been in sports recently

Moving up in weight has been done before! Manny was 108 as a teenager. He is only fighting 39 pounds heavier now. How do you people find it hard to believe that a guy puts on 40 pounds from age 17 to 31? Chris Byrd and Roy Jones did it without speculation of ROIDS. Pacquiao said he is not against ANY form of drug testing mandated by any state athletic sports commission whenever, wherever he fights. He just finds it funny and stupid to change a system that has been set for decades now. Pacquiao undergoes drug testing and other medical examinations before and after every fight over the past 15 years and has never failed any of these tests.
There is no issue here unless you want there to be one. Manny just wants to be tested like everyone else in boxing including Mayweather last 40 opponents. Manny even agreed to extra test and said he’ll piss as much as PBF likes where is the issue other than MAYWEATHER IS SCARED!!!!!!!

Amid a looming legal battle over claims of steroids use and the other camp’s declaration that the mega-fight is dead, the side of Floyd Mayweather, Jr. appears ready to soften its stand on the disputed dope-testing item in the planned March 13 showdown with Manny Pacquiao.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who’s representing Mayweather in the negotiations, on Sunday (Manila time) said the Floyd group is open to the Pacquiao camp’s demands of not using the US Anti-Doping Agency for the Olympic-style drug tests and of setting a cut-off time in conducting blood tests prior to the fight.

“We are OK to move off USADA,” Schaefer said in an interview with ESPN.Com. “What we’re saying and what is important to us is four things – that the tests be random, that they include blood and urine and the time frame, meaning when do you stop the tests before the fight but know they will still be effective.”
According to the GBP executive, the two camps have already agreed on the issues of random, blood and urine tests.
“It’s a matter of the two sides working out the specifics of the cutoff date to assure it will still be effective.”
The dope issue has derailed the otherwise smooth negotiations for the projected highest-grossing fight in boxing history.
Purportedly aiming to protect their fighter from performance-enhancing drugs that they accused Pacquiao of taking, the Mayweather camp has insisted on doing thorough dope tests, including getting blood samples two days before the fight.
But Team Pacquiao has objected, wanting assurances that training would not be disrupted by a middle-of-the-night test or one conducted a few days leading up to the fight.
Instead, promoter Bob Arum proposed three scheduled tests – on the week of the fight’s press conference, at least 30 days before the bout, and immediately after the action. He also recommended that the Nevada State Athletic Commission or independent agencies that work with the NBA, NFL or MLB be tapped to do the test in place of the USADA.
The issue has taken a turn for worse as a fed up Pacquiao asked his promoters to help him prepare libel, slander, and defamation suits charges against Floyd Mayweather Jr and his father Floyd Sr., as well as Schaefer, whom he felt had “gone overboard” in insinuating he’s on to something illegal.
He wants to sue instead of taking the test clearing his name and fighting on an even playing field. Image what pac man can do if he was to take the test knock out mayweather he would be on top of the boxing world.
