Roach Has An Answer For Mayweather Jr., “You Are Not Our Boss!”

By William Trillo
It had gone just past 3:30 PM PST when the email from Floyd Mayweather’s publicist went out.
The headline read:

MAYWEATHER VS PACQUIAO IN JEOPARDY AS PACQUIAO REFUSES TO COMPLY
WITH UNITED STATES ANTI DOPING DRUG TESTING PROCEDURES

Here’s a newsflash for you Mayweather honks, Manny doesn’t have to comply with the Olympic style drug testing as outlined and mandated by the United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA).

Pacquiao is not competing for a Gold Medal in the 2012 Olympics.

He is supposed to be fighting Mayweather in March but as I warned you on multiple occasions, the more time you dilly dally around with Jerry “Face Lift” Jones trying to figure out where this fight will be held, Dallas or Las Vegas, the more time you give Floyd Jr. to come up with an excuse to get out of this fight.

Looks like I pretty much hit the nail on the head sports fans.

No sooner did the choice of Las Vegas getting the nod as the city to hold the mega-fight get announced than Floyd Jr. and Team Mayweather released this absurd drug testing condition. The release then stated that Top Rank told Richard Schaefer that Manny had ZERO intentions of meeting Mayweathers ridiculous request.

And although the release is written to try to make us believe it will be Manny’s fault if the fight falls through, there is nothing that could be further from the truth. PERIOD!

The first thing I did when I read the report was to call The Wildcard Boxing Club in Hollywood to get Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roaches thoughts on the demand. When Roach took the phone I asked him about the extra drug testing that Mayweather wants them to comply with and how he felt about it. Roach firmly said, “Floyd is not our boss! He doesn’t tell us what to do. We will comply with all the rules of the State Athletic Commission in Nevada or Texas and will take whatever drug tests they require but we have no intention of agreeing to Floyd’s demand.”

With the magnitude of the event and amount of money this fight could generate I had to ask Freddie if Floyd made good on his promise not to fight, if he and Manny would be able to deal with that and move on. “We can move on without any problem at all, we have plenty of other options, no problem at all,” said a confident Roach.

With the fight all but set in Nevada the next call I placed was to Nevada State Athletic Commissioner Keith Kizer. The always accommodating Commish was happy to answer my questions about drug testing in his jurisdiction. Kizer said, “We take a urine sample just prior to the event and we also take one immediately after the fight takes place. We also have a rule in place that allows us to randomly test the fighter licensed in our State at any given time before the fight.”

Somewhat surprised at his response I asked him if he was telling me that , for instance, 2 or 3 weeks before the fight he could get in his car and drive from Las Vegas to Hollywood and randomly test Pacquiao, no questions asked? “That’s exactly what I am telling you,” Kizer answered.

“Are the fighters aware of this rule.” I asked?

“I don’t know if the fighters are aware of the rule but I guarantee you the Promoters are,” Kizer replied.

Did you hear that? The Nevada State Athletic Commission has rules in place to drug test anytime before the fight that they want! More importantly the promoters are very aware of this rule.

A quick check of WBO policy, since they would be the sanctioning body for the Welterweight Title fight reads:

SECTION 28. DRUGS OR STIMULANTS
(c) The World Boxing Organization encourages all Local Boxing Commissions to conduct anti-doping tests before or after the fight. If the Local Boxing Commission conducts the tests, they shall be administered in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Local Boxing Commission.

Ipso Facto: Apparently the WBO and the State of Nevada have this “steroid thing” under control!

In case you forgot, all the “Manny Is Steroid User” speculation began to catch on shortly after Pacquiao dismantled Miguel Cotto. The prime suspect in spreading the Steroid rumor wildfire was none other than Floyd Mayweather Sr.

It seems Sr. has been upset with Manny ever since he disposed of his “prize pupil” Ricky Hatton in quick fashion earlier in the year. Although Floyd Sr. was convicted for drug trafficking as part of a ring smuggling cocaine in boxes of laundry detergent and convicted in 1993, serving a five-year term for his involvement, I highly doubt he is an expert on who is “juicing” with Roids and who is not.

In all honesty, I am not familiar with Steroids and signs of those who use either so I did a little impromptu research today and I would like to show you what I found.

According to www.toxassociates.com you can perform an effective test for steroids with a mere 30 ml random urine specimen. NO BLOOD REQUIRED. Stick your fangs back in Count Mayweather.

The next thing I learned were of some of the side effects of taking steroids. Unfortunately, the use of anabolic steroids has many drawbacks. Some of these symptoms include increased irritability, hot flashes, hypertension, depression, chills, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, euphoria, mood swings, and psychosis.

Wait a minute?

Increased irritability? Hot flashes? Hypertension? Depression? Euphoria? Mood swings and Psychosis? That sounds a lot more like symptoms displayed by Floyd Jr. on a regular basis, not Manny. Someone hand “The Pretty Boy” a specimen jar. And now that I am thinking about it, while you are at it give a jar to his sidekick Leonard “Hot Flashes” Ellerbe too, dude seems a bit unnerved most of the time as well.

When asked by boxing site Max Boxing if he thinks Pacquiao-Mayweather will still take place on March 13, Promoter Bob Arum said: “No. Because Manny is not going to be subjected to blood testing while he’s in training and they (Mayweather camp) are going to insist on it because they never really wanted to do the fight.”

That’s exactly what I have been saying all along.

MAYWEATHER will not run out of alibis just to get out from the trap/bluff that he himself made. The Mayweathers are killing boxing. He is not in the position to demand more than what is required. Pacquiao is still so nice that HE IS WILLING TO GIVE HIS BLOOD right after the fight, even after he goes down the ring just to prove that he’s clean of any illegal drugs.

The Best JOKE Boxer of all time and his father, the Best Joke Trainer of all time, have never been in the Philippines making baseless accusations to the PACMAN. Pathetic loser.

  2. anonymous says:

Mayweather jr is a fuckin’ coward! he is scared of Pacman. Manny agreed to a urine and blood testing 1 month before the fight and after the fight. that is already enough to detect if one fighter used steroid. Think about this! Why Mayweather wants a blood testing during the training? Most of the fighters that used steroids during training are those big guys that can’t make the weight. Manny don’t need to take steroid during training coz he can easily make the weight @ 147 lbs. Pacman passed all Las Vegas and Texas commisions Drug Testing on every fights. Is Mayweather Team assuming that those boxing commisions are not accurate to their testing? Come on Floyd, show to the world that you have balls and stop ducking good fighters. don’t make olympic style blood testing as an scape goat ‘coz youre not fighting for a gold medal or olympics. Be a man! Don’t loose the huge pay. remember Pacman don’t need you, you need him to have a huge pay….to pay IRS.Also remember what rugged man said…build your legacy as a fighter!

  3. Pin Galarga says:

Pacman should give blood and quiet everybody, but Why doesn’t He?? I He has nothing to fear, then why? There’s something fishy about the whole thing, because after having Superman like performances Team Pacman should expect the doubts. Specially after all the sports have shown their colors when it comes to roids.
Pacman should clear the waters, because at the end, it’s his legacy and HE shouldn’t have any problems giving blood if that’s what it takes.

    Fishy responses from Pacland.

  4. Frank Boff says:

Just because Kizer has a law in place allowing him to random test does not mean he will with Manny. In fact I would bet he does not, both to show he can’t be bullied by Mayweather and also because the last thing the gambling mafia that is Las Vegas wants is to have Manny test positive for roids and lose the multi-million dollar fight, which is expected to help boost the sagging casino business. I believe there is something fishy about a guy who started his career at 108 pounds, who is only 5 feet 6 and a half inches can grow into a weltlerweight. Never been done with the really small guys.

In March of 2008 Pacquiao was still campaigning at 130, a junior lightweight. In one year he suddenly vaults through lightweight, junior welterweight and welterweight. How is that possible. How did he put on so much muscle in such a short period of time. Team Pacquiao is always bragging at how incredibly hard he works during training, super human workouts. Where does the energy come from to do that. The odor of roids will hang over Pacquiao, and if he doesnt volunteer to be tested, as Pin Galarga suggests, his legacy will always be tainted.
As for Mayweather he is responsible for some of the downfall of boxing. He was until Pacquiao burst on the scene, the number one star of the sport, but fans hated him and still do. That is not good for boxing. The sooner Mayweather and his clan disappear from boxing the better off we will be. Good riddance.

  5. BoneCrusher says:

In any case, what is the problem! Sure Mayweather may be asking to go beyond the normal in this occassion but this fight too is beyond the normal and why not give a test sample if the other camp wants to make sure of no cheating? I find it unproffesional and more a move by Roach than Manny to deny testing. I love Manny and hope he beats Floyd but damn Manny or Roach get off your high horse, and dont think your sh** dont stink. Just take the test get everyony off your back or people will start to wonder how it is your so damn strong at every weight.

  6. David says:

Manny was a big weight drainer at 126 and 130. He is actually fighting at the weight he would normally be if he didn’t drop 15 or more pounds to make those weights. This steroid crap is just more delusional agenda confirming bullshit from people who don’t know any better. Lil floyd casting doubt on Pacquiao is a smart move on his part, cuz he knows that doubt is enough for the stupid fuckin’ people who can’t think beyond some blind accusation will buy it. It takes literally no brain power to hear “he won’t take a drug test!!?” and then spin it whatever way you want while conveniently ignoring what’s actually going on. Floyd has ducked and dodged the toughest tests out there for a long time, why would this time be any different.

  7. Luis says:

Human Growth Hormone, the kind that makes your head enormous, (HGH) is not detecable in a urine test, for that you need blood.

NSAC does not do blood test in their drug screening tests.

105 to 147, and still keeps his power along with a bodybuilder physique….not to mention his enourmous head, all on rice and beans, sure.

why not take the test ? afraid of some needle ? but not afraid to get tattoed.

its not like Steroid Manny is the only one getting tested, so is Floyd. Manny has been exposed, he has been juicing this whole time.

  8. Sammy says:

Luis, “exposed” is when the truth is revealed. If test results came back positive then your last sentance would have made sense. If anything, this admits Floyd doesn’t think he can beat a Pacquao even on roids. I thought Floyd was supposed to be that good? Guess not.

  9. William Trillo says:

    PAY ATTENTION CLASS!

Pacquiao said he would take THREE blood tests which is outside of the regular drug testing done! That is one test at the start of the year, one 30 days before the fight and then one after the fight.

Mayweather & Golden Boy put out that press release yesterday trying to spin the truth to make you think Manny would not test at all. That is the farthest thing from the truth.

The truth is Floyd has come up with this bogus demand because he really does not want to fight Manny. He knows he CAN NOT beat Pacquiao and he does not want to risk his unbeaten record for any amount of money.

What does it tell you when he talks about fighting Matthew Hatton?

It tells you what many have known all along. Floyd does not want to fight the best in his division. Not now….NOT EVER!

  10. Luis says:

since class is in session, you might want to look up the word “random”

and you might want to ask the NSAC how manytimes they caught Mosely with steroids.

what will Manny’s next excuse be ? we already heard 1. he is afraid of needles 2. it weakens him. so what is it ??? whats next ? without the HGH Manny can’t even beat Vic Darchinyian.

even a blind man can see the musculature over the years in the Steroid boy. are you guys that blind or Manny-drunk ? Manny wants no part of anyone without his juice.
If Manny decides to grow a pair and take the test, Floyd by KO within 2, wont even work up a sweat. Manny knows too, LMAO !

    Manny has been EXPOSED.

  11. youre gay! says:

Luis, if Pac said he was willing to take the test 3 times, then wtf are u talking about?

YOU have been EXPOSED, for being a dumbass.

  12. We are all sinners and none are just. Unbelievable, mayweather with demands when he paid a fine in the Marquez bout to go in overweight and with an advantage. He sure likes to be the bigger guy in the ring and now all of a sudden he’s scared of the smaller man. Tainting Pacquiao’s legacy and so unwilling to take true risks to build his own. This is now, imagine when it comes to talking about the weight and money issue, he’ll become intolerable… wait a minute, he’s already intolerable, unbearable… just bad for boxing.

    Good night and God Bless
… and Merry Christmas to all…

    Cadiz Clan

    P.S. – Saludos Tocayo

  13. Luis says:

    class still in session ????

    pay attention boys and girls:

Travis Tygart, the chief executive of USADA, said his organization has a checklist that it calls the matrix of effectiveness. It includes blood and urine testing, both in and out of competition. Blood tests, Tygart added, detect prohibited substances like human growth hormone, synthetic hemoglobin, designer EPO and blood transfusions, while urine tests DO NOT.

Pacquiao has agreed to have his blood tested three times: in early January, when the fight was expected to be announced, 30 days before the fight and immediately after it. He also agreed to random urine testing.

But Tygart said the 30-day window would still allow an athlete plenty of time to dope with illegal substances not detectable by urine testing.

“That kind of window is totally unacceptable,” Tygart said. “It would provide a huge loophole for a cheater to step through and get away with cheating.”

  14. D Miller says:

Hey Luis, you trying to school anyone on drug tests is pretty funny considering the amount of spelling errors and typos that plagued your pathetic rants. Nice job copying and pasting on your second reply, it almost appears as if you know what you are talking about. Good work numb nuts.

  15. Threat says:

Who is Luis kidding. Class is in session, but you rode in on the short bus, that means YOUR class is at the front of the building where you can blow all the spit-bubbles you want, but please don’t do it in here with the honour students and try to call it commenting. Thanks.

  16. anonymous says:

Luis, Pin & frank…Wake-up! Pacman already agreed to 3 blood testing! Steroid marks will remain in your blood for couple of months so why do the gayweathers demanding for more. the best test is to be done after the fight. Let says for example, if i am the fighter and i want to cheat to win, i”ll take the steroid hours before the fight to make me strong during the fight. why i am gonna use drugs 30 days before the fight…it is useless right! one example is Chavez jr. they caught him on a urine test after the fight. remember..the first fight with erik morales, they took blood test from pacman before the fight. Did they found something? NONE…

  17. Mayweather Jr. says:

Ok everyone, Im going to need all participants in here to take some blood tests as well. We need to prove who is who, and who is on roids. There is no way Pacquiao could possibly look that good against Oscar, Hatton and Cotto. Additionally, there is no way he could possibly have any supporters who believe he is not on the juice, therefore those fans must be juicing as well, Im sure of it. I dont even believe you’re all human.

You too Trillo. There’s no way you can write this many blogs. You’re on the stuff for sure.

Blood tests, piss tests, spool samplss, fingerprints, nail clippings, ear wax, the works. ALL OF YOU!

Ellerbe is filling a home brewed cup for me right now as we speak. You’re a good lapdog, aintcha’ boy?

  18. Deee says:

    Luis et al…
You guys are so pathetic. They’re bossing around Manny! Would you let your opponent do the stuff they want you to do? Manny’s camp has pride and most people do(unlike you who would suck the D*** of mayweather if he tells you to). Why would Manny do such a thing when there are rules about drug testing in boxing. Is he the commissioner in boxing who’d tell his opponents on what to do? He’s looking for an alibi to avoid pacman. As simple as that.

    Peace!!!

  19. joker says:

has any one of you guys gave blood to anywhere??? or did any kind of blood tests???
i did and it really weakens me.
cut something in your arms or wherever and feel it.
you play basketball, or any other sport after giving blood.
see and feel how it is.
if you really want to be at your best fighting form in a competition why are you gonna do such stupid thing.
do it after the fight, the tests would reveal the same outcome since the substance doesnt go away that fast.
so taking blood samples two days before the fight and taking samples immediately after the fight would yield the same results.
the only difference is the effect on the fighters on both sides.
maybe one guy doesnt feel it but the other feels it.
    each person different.
mayweather knows he can’t be affected by it, pacman knows he can.
as seen on his loss to morales. anyway, pacman was negative there.
maybe mayweathers, remember this and want to exploit this thing.
its an advantage they are really wanting to pick up.
its an unreasonable demand and they are willing to give up the fight if they can’t have this advantage.
they even work with dela hoya in urging pacquiao to do their demand.
saying that pacquiao is like mosley and vargas. under illegal substance.
    maybe thats why he lost.
just for people to have an excuse for losing they are willing to do everything.

if you are in a competititve sport, of course you dont just give your opponent the advantages that they are so eager to get.
you don’t give in to demands of exactly your opponent are wanting.
anyway, if the boxing commitee in charge of all the legalities say the fighter is clean.
    they are clean.
if they are not good enough, its better they remove them and replace them with what the mayweathers wanted and be the boss of every little things that goes on in boxing.

remember two days before the fight and right after the fight blood testing would be the same outcome.
so pacquiao agreed to have the testing after the fight so his game won’t be affected.
so why mayweather wanted it before the fight so pacquiao will be weaker and have an advantage mentally and maybe physically plus give hmself a chance not to get beaten too much.
so if you are pacquiao, are you going to give your opponent an advantage to beat you…
    of course not!
anyway, there’s never a time that pacquiao got positive for any illegal substances.
not until mayweather sr. made him positive in his mind!
    only him.
    and who’s side he’s in.

  21. Frisco jr says:

Its funny and amusing reading all the comments of this because alot of them do not understand what the writer meant. The writer said the fight is not gonna happen no matter what, the Mayweathers are using smokes and screen tactics even if Pacquiao agrees to their blood test demand they will still come out with another atrocious demand because Floyd jr doesnt want to fight and he is preserving his undefeated status.

  22. jeff taylor says:

are you kidding me mayweather wants money more then anything and will box circles around pac man if it happens. Pac is turning down 40 million over a drug test that is what people should be talking about.
