Manny: The Calm In The Eye Of The Storm
On my drive home from Las Vegas yesterday all I could do was wonder how Manny Pacquiao does it time and time again. I mean, it’s not a secret that there is always rumors of outside distractions and turmoil inside his camp before every fight, yet when Pacman climbs into the ring any outside disturbances have no effect on him whatsoever.
Manny handles his business inside the ring like no other, so what is his secret?
I came to the conclusion that Manny lives his life inside the eye of the storm. Scientifically speaking, the eye of the storm is the calmest place to be when all else around it is getting hammered by the cyclone. The barometric pressure in that cyclone is lower than anywhere else around it. Much like the storm, the pressure heaped on Pacquiao is negligible and he uses the storms power to produce fantastic and destructive results.
Certainly it’s a recipe for disaster and I doubt anyone could feed off this like Manny.
I know I said this before and there is no guarantee I will heed my own warning but I vow that until Manny shows me something inside the ring that tells me he can’t handle the outside craziness I will never, I repeat never pick against him again.
Bring on the Pretty Boy!

Job Well Done! But, unless Floyd is in financial trouble he would NEVER fight Pac-Man! Courage and Character are traits that develope and shaped from birth to your mid twenties. Pretty Boy will be 33 in Feb. that’s too late to develope those traits. Like I said; show me Pretty Boy’s income to debt ratio and I’ll tell you if the fight will happen. I guess we’ll be tuning in to Showtime, I’m picking Kessler and HBO for the replay this weekend. I DVR’d too much of the pre fight the first time around. De Nuevo, JOB WELL DONE!!!
If Floyd dont take the fight, I’m sure Antonio Margarito will.
Billy,
The Pacman is all business, he just has the uncanny ability to concentrate on one thing at a time. With the sound of the first bell it was strictly the task at hand, beat Cotto!!! He also has the expertise of one of the greatest trainers in the history of boxing Freddie Roach. Roach is another one who has that ability to compartmentalize and concentrate on the task at hand. Manny’s physical abilities and boxing skills and the hunger and drive to win is unbelievable. As he goes up in weight he appears to get stronger where others get weaker. The intensity he exhibits in the ring was very apparent in this fight. He would channel all of his strength in punch after punch. Margarito, Mayweather, I just don’t think they have that type of focus and determination, there is a hunger in the little man from the Philippines, and is the epitomy of the fighter who love’s to fight, fights to win, and would rather die than lose. When it comes to having something in common he and Roach are joined at the hip in that credo. I don’t see the ego over inflated as I do with Mayweather and Margarito. He is that quiet man in the corner who never really says too much, but could make your life a living hell if you find him as your adversary in the ring. I think that is one of his traits that I really admire in him. No mouth, no trash talk, and respects his opponents, just action!!! He in my opinion is the living example of the humble man who let’s his fists do all the talking. I think that is one of the reasons Mayweather has avoided Manny, he must see the strength in the humility and determination. He may very well put an end to Mayweather’s career. Mayweather may be good and no doubt about it he is, but is he as great as Pacquiao?……………..I don’t think so. As for Margarito……………..a great fighter doesn’t need loaded gloves!!!!!!
my friends, let us not fail to see that the great fighter PACQUIAO won because the Great Almighty GOD is so pleased with manny’s humbleness and acknowledgment of GOD’s great glory !!! Manny is the ONLY fighter in the world who actually prays immediately before & after his fights and clearly acknowledges in his interviews that he is very thankful to GOD….as it is said, “the humble shall be exalted”. Praise be to GOD for manny !!!
ONLY GOD CAN GIVE TRUE VICTORIES!
as long as manny continues to acknowledge GOD and remains humble, NOBODY can defeat him because GOD will always be with him in his fights….
only GOD can give his seemed to be “superhuman” feat….that is manny’s true secret!
all the good things about the greatness of pacquiao haVE been said already!!! there should be no contentions as to who the no 1 pound 4 pound fighter in the world, we have just witnessed before the very eyes of the entire universe that there will be nobody as deserving as the filipino warrior…
any intuition that mayweather may be a better fighter is clearly erroneous and stupid!!!
the man who had fought all his fights without trashing bad words against his foes was the very same man that GOD had sent to destroy all of his enemies… this time in the boxing ring.
haven’t you wonder why pacquiao seemed unbreakable and unstoppable?
that’s the very nature of His POWER and his BEING!
GOD is always beyond human comprehension that’s why PACQUIAO being sent and guided by GOD himself is also unthinkable of the power, speed, and strength he possessed!
it’s something perhaps we can think of but we can never exactly figure out as to why indeed…
one thing’s clear: pacquiao–THE GREATEST FIGTHER OF ALL TIME!!!
GOD SPEED AND BE BLESSED!!!

Mabuhay ka Manny…Mabuhay ang sambayanang pilipino…May God Bless Us All…
MABUHAY KA IDOL PACMAN… GOD BLESS YOU…
I hope PACMAN fight YURI FOREMAN at 150 for 8th titles,or defend his 140lbs. belt against JMM on MARCH or APRIL 2010,then he can fight Floyd on OCTOBER or NOVEMBER 2010 then retires.
i wish that manny “pacman” paquiao can fight with margarito, marquez and mayweather,.and defeat them all..specially mayweather,.and if the fight with mayweather push thru, i pray that pretty boy would be down in 5 rounds…LOL…and destroy his trash talking big mouth…
If one thinks Mayweather can be beaten by Pacman, then one needs boxing education.
