LOOK…Marquez is so zoned in, so confident he can beat Floyd and reach the mountaintop, he just doesn’t give a WHIZZ about the two extra pounds. The man wants to win. From the Marquez viewpoint, a few pounds are meaningless now after 8 grueling weeks. He is so hungry to fight Floyd he wouldn’t have cared if Floyd weighed 150…which he probably will. Marquez is a hungry warrior and doesn’t care at this point what shenanigans Floyd pulls, and he has pulled plenty. Juan Manuel is a total professional, which Floyd is not. Conclusion: While logic says Marquez can’t beat Floyd, in my gut I have a feeling a big upset is in the making

I still say if Floyd was serious about the Marquez threat, he would not have weight 8 pounds over 8 out. In his bubble world where he thinks he is the best of all time, the challenge of a blown-up lightweight is akin to a tuneup fight for Pacquiao. It’s not him weighing in at 146 that bothers me, it’s the eight pounds. He weighed in at 146 for both Judah and Baldomir, BTW. Since Castillo II Floyd has never fought anybody who on paper could beat him, outside of an aging Oscar. No matter what his size, Marquez is the BEST fighter he has ever faced, and I don’t see any way he dominates him , even if he wins. Floyd is not a heavy puncher, and Marquez has demonstrated in four knockdowns by a true puncher – Pacquiao – he can bounce up and stay the course. Just the sheer shock of being in the ring with a real fighter for the first time since Castillo will be a wakeup call for :Floyd and his ego. Floyd’s biggest weakness in this fight is not rust, it is his ego and overconfidence.
I have to agree fighters like Floyed need to pack their shit and get out of boxing..
They want to walk around running their mouths about how great they are and when a true challenge is put in front of them they turn their backs.I tip my hat to Sugar Shane tonight for stepping to Mayweather in front of the world so that everyone can see what a little BITCH he really is and it can’t be covered up.
Boxing was doing mighty fine without Mayweather. Why God Oh Why oh GOD why did he had to return? I’ve just viewed the match and something hit me. God doesn’t exist.
As I said on another site, if Floyd wanted to make a statement in a comback he should have taken on Pavlik. The difference in weight between middle and welter is almost the same as from welter to light. The great fighters of the past took on bigger men and went out of thier way to find these fights. Mayweather is naturally smaller than all of the top welters and would have been much smaller than Pavlik, just like Marquez was much smaller than Mayweather. His smoke and mirrors trick fooled most of the public and I’m going to hear about it at work tomorrow from all of his “followers” (African-American men that only know him cause of race and money). I bet none of them purchased the fight even though they say he is the biggest draw in boxing.
Floyds comments about everything in life get too much attetnion these days. He rants about MMA beign for white people casue there are no great white fighters today. Three of the six fighers in the super middle tournament are white. The second best fighter in that weightclass who is not in the tournament (Bute) is also white. The two best heavies today are white, and the middlweight champ of the world is white. Now that he has made these comments, did he try to put his money where his mouth is and fight Pavlik at a meeting weight? No! He picked on a smaller man. He did not even try to acknowledge what the meeting weight would be, and then didn’t even try to make said weight. He had no intentions of making it to begin with. Now that he stacked the deck totaly in his favor, the outcome was less than specatcualr.
I’m tired of these fighters hand picking thier opponents and making it sound like the P4P title is something they can only lose in the ring. The Duvas did it with Whitaker, Roy did it himself for years, Oscar had his run at it, and now Floyd is doing it too. This is why “White People” are going to MMA. This kind of crap dose not happen there.
jay here’s a question for you: so you are saying the great pernell whitaker hand picked opponents???? you are smoking some serious crack, to say both sweet pea and de la hoya had hand picked opponents. those guys never ducked anyone, shit they even fought each other. maybe you should go watch ufc because your boxing knownledge sucks. btw what the fuck does race have to do with this??? one thing i agree with is floyd is fooling alot of people and i don’t like him.(i’m african american btw) i really hope he steps you too mosley or atleast cotto(after he destroys pacman)
You would think that someone would have bashed me for my takes (multiple) on Floyd, but much to the contrary everyone is in agreement that this fight was a sham. It’s pretty simple to see what the general consensus is.
As I pack up and leave sin city I wish the saying, ” What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’” were true, but something tells me that image from last night is going to plauge me and everyone else for a long long time.
The real issue here is why Golden Boy conspired with the Mayweathers to basically “rape” JMM. They didn’t even give their own fighter a level playing field in every aspect of the fight or in the contract renegotiation. I’m telling you guys GBP is worse than DKP and TopRank. The media probably won’t say anything about it cause the free ringside seats and the buffet are just too damn good.
